America's Funniest Home Videos Season 8 aired from September 22, 1996 to May 18, 1997. This was Bob Saget's final season as host, and a rerecorded version of "The Funny Things You Do" was used starting in 1997. This is the last season to feature Gary Owens as the announcer since Ernie Anderson had health problems in 1995. During this season, each episode began with a segment called "Home Videos Sunday".
