Trivia[]
- This season marks the debut of the song "Tom's Got a Big Ol' Head," which plays in Episodes 2, 6, and 7 during the "Tom's Home Movies" segments. In the latter two episodes, these segments are shown instead of the usual "Honorable Mentions" segment while the studio audience votes for the funniest home video of the episode.
- This season marks the last of three things:
- The last season in which the logo has an orange background. From Seasons 22-25, it has a blue and green background.
- The last appearance of a production video, "Dog Catcher" in episode 17, in the Bergeron era and until Season 34.
- "Dog Catcher" is also the last nominee to have the same title as another nominee.
- The last season to have nominees with only one word in the title: "Thumbstucker" from Episode 2 and "Ringleader" from Episode 4.
- Episode 24 had no confetti at the end and was the first to use the fanfare version of the AFV theme song in its long and short versions, and was upgraded to $100,000 shows in 2011; the short version of the long version of that cue was also heard on Tom Bergeron's last episode, and was carried over into the Alfonso Ribeiro era in 2015.
- "Cookie Face Race" is one of several videos to win first place in the first episode of its block, then win in the next $100,000 show.
- According to Krista Robbins, the submitter of "Car Seat Stink Eye" in Episode 9, her video tied for first place with "Oblivious Boy."[1] Therefore, a runoff election was held per the contest rules[2] with the former video winning. The episode marks the only known occurrence of this to date.
- In the Disney+ release of this season, the theme used in Season 26 onwards can be heard during the "Assignment America" explanations in most episodes. The modern "AFV.com" logo and the title card from Seasons 22-25 can also be seen.
- Several videos nominated throughout this season have references in their titles:
- "Little Bitty Butter Girl" is a reference to the 1957 song "Little Bitty Pretty One."
- "Thumbstucker" is a pun on Thumbsucker, a 1999 novel by Walter Kirn and a 2005 film adaptation.
- "Granny Get Your Gun" is a pun on the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun.
- "Shake it Baby" shares its name with a 2004 song by LL Cool J.
- "Wrestle Maniac" shares its name with a 2006 film.
- "The Spice Boys" is a reference to Spice Girls, an English girl group.
- "Jersey Shortie" is a reference to the reality TV show "Jersey Shore."
- "Sticker Shock" is a phrase used to describe the feeling of the high price of a product.
- "Monkey In the Muumuu" is a reference to the game Monkey in the Middle.
- A dog catcher is a name for someone who works for an animal control service. This title was used for another nominee in the previous season.
- "Wax On, Wax Ouch!" is a reference to "Wax on, wax off," a defensive technique from the martial arts drama film series The Karate Kid.
- "Icy Does It" is a pun on the phrase "Easy does it."
Goofs[]
- In the Disney+ release of episode 19, Travis Surface's ("Wax on, Wax Ouch!") surname is misspelled as "Ervis" in the subtitles. This error is fixed in episode 22.
